      A geometry-first adventure in shape

      Start with one point.
      Build all of space.

No formulas required. Watch a point become a sphere, a sphere gather friends, and their touching build every regular shape there is, and then return to where it began.

      About this study

Nothing here was drawn by hand.

Every shape on these pages is calculated from a rule while you scroll. The five regular solids and their thirteen semi-regular relatives come from one point reflected in three mirrors. The packing shapes come from equal spheres touching. The space cell comes from cutting space fairly between neighbors. No shape is stored as a list of corners.

The story follows the opening argument of Keith Critchlow's Order in Space (1969): treat the point as a real, round thing, let points gather, and read the order that their gathering implies.

The construction is verified by more than a hundred automated checks: every corner count, every equal edge, the 720 degrees of gap in every closed solid, the seamless join between chapters, and the exact return of the last frame to the first. Scroll backwards and everything reverses, because every frame is a pure function of where you are on the page.

For the precise instrument behind the story, with every mirror distance, symbol, and count exposed, open the shape lab. For a plain-language account of the construction, the three-layer architecture, and the tests, read how it works.
