About this drawing
A modern digital rendering of ancient Islamic geometry. Every figure is constructed
in code using the principles underlying the historical patterns: circles swept as a
compass sweeps, lines ruled from point to point, each construction resting on the
last, every measure derived from the first radius. What appears is not decoration
but consequence.
The progression moves through the tradition’s recurring families: point, circle,
vesica, sixfold rose, eightfold khātam, tenfold rosette of the
golden section, and the twelvefold master pattern found in zellij and Persian
tilework.
Then, as it began, it returns.
